Scared Of Success

I had a meeting the other day, and I think I received the strangest comment I have ever heard before in my life. The person asked me whether or not now was a good time to get started because they were afraid they couldn't keep up with all the potential business. Really? I almost couldn't believe what I was hearing, but once I got over the shock I asked them to explain themselves and the question became more clear.

In a way the question was a good question, and very flatering for SOC, just worded a bit oddly. Here is actually what they were asking. Once they sign up for the business, how are they going to answer all the questions that come their way? The prospect of starting this business is exciting and scary all at the same time. They were afraid they couldn't help anyone else be successful if they didn't know the first thing about being successful. All of these were very valid points, and here's how I addressed that.

First lets start with how someone might answer questions that they don't know the answer to. If there is an answer I don't know, I say "I don't know". Shocking huh? The reason I answer like this is because I believe in being honest with them and not selling them something that may not be the truth. The last thing I want my potential business partners to feel is that I have an answer for everything. We all know that they guy that has the answer for everything, usually knows nothing. So I want to start this relationship out being honest, and upfront about what I know and what I don't. Right after I make that statement, I will tell them that since I don't know the answer, I will find out for them. If the question is that good that I don't know the answer, then I should take the opportunity to find out for myself. So for those questions that you don't know the answer to, it's ok to be honest and tell them that you don't know, but you'll find out.

The second question of helping others be successful when you haven't been as successful yet, is a bit trickier. I look at it this way, you may not have as many distributors as your upline, nor the number of customers, but you do have something already that is going to make you a success, YOU. Most of the people out there aren't doing what your doing, and that's talking to people about the business. Everyone judges success in different ways, I label success with how you feel. I knew that I wanted to have kids and hear from my kids that they love me. Guess what, they remind me every day that I'm successful first thing in the morning. Success is up to you, and by showing others SendOutCards, you will reach the level of success that you seek. Remember, nothing in the world is free and easy, so if you want success you have to work for it. Why not start working for it today.

Don't be scared of being successful, just go out there and do it. Doing things outside of our comfort zone is what pushes us to the next level. Do something today that you didn't do yesterday. You can't do on Friday what you could have done on Monday or Tuesday.
