Today I thought I would share with you one of the promptings I recently had and used Send Out Cards to great success. As we all know the economy isn't in the best shape, which often times leads to companies scaling back and unfortunately friends and family searching for work. Just the other day I got a call from an old colleague that had recently been let go by her firm. At first my reaction was how can I help her find a new job, but then I quickly changed my thoughts to how I can help her feel better about herself.
My first question to her was how was she feeling, and then my next question was "How can I help". It didn't immediately appear to me that I already had the answer. The most immediate thing I could do was make sure she was in my contact manager, then send her a card about keeping her head up. It didn't take me long to find a card with the new card manager, and it only cost me two points plus postage. With the new card editor I was able to make the fonts all different colors and add a happy theme to the message.
I haven't yet heard from my friend as to how the card made her feel, but I suspect I will in the next few days. Once I do I'll share it, but until then think about how you might be able to cheer someone up. I could have made her day even better by sending her some gifts, but I wanted to keep it simple so that she knew she had support and that the whole world wasn't out to get her.
Remember, we should all be in the business of establishing relationships. We can have many things, but if we don't have relationships with which we can depend upon then we really don't have much at all. Take the time out of your day to relax and think about how you can make a difference in someone elses life.
