Today I had the pleasure of receiving a thank you from someone I sent a Picture Plus card to. I had been cleaning out some old photo boxes when I came across a picture of a friend of mine that I thought would be perfect for their upcoming birthday. Luckily for me, those friends that I don't have in my contact manager, I do have on Facebook. Facebook did a good job notifying me that they had an upcoming birthday. So after finding an old photo in a shoebox, I decided it was time to put the image to good use.
The first thing I did was take the phone and scan it to get it into digital form. After I scanned it, I then uploaded it to Picture Plus. Once in Picture Plus, I added a few bubbles to it and a bit of text, nothing that took me more than 5 minutes. At that point I saved it as a Picture Plus Card and off to the card editor I went. Once in the card editor I added my message, double checked it for errors and clicked the send button. I was now done sending a completely custom card. In all the process took me at most 10 minutes, and the card cost less than $1.
Although the ease of sending the card was fun, the more enjoyable part was the message that I received once he got it. The following is what I got from my friend after he got the card:
Just got the card its one of the best things I have received in a long time. Thank you!
Knowing that you made someone feel great is priceless. I can tell you this, it made me want to find some more old photos to scan and send as cards. Imagine some of the things that you could create and send to friends and family. The options are endless.
