Talk to your tax man

It just so happens that yesterday I had to visit my tax man. I'm one of those type of people that looks forward to seeing the accountant because I know that I'm getting something back when I'm done talking to him. This year was no exception, with maybe one little difference. This year I had some extra income coming from a source he didn't recognize. That's right, as a 1099 I had to claim my SOC earnings, but what was even better, was that I got to explain my SOC business.

And guess what?

I am now proud to say that my tax advisor thought so highly of this service that he decided that he needed to send thank you cards to all of his clients. Yup, so the yearly visit to see the tax man Sam, brought unexpected growth.

I've noticed that there are a lot of services that can use the services that we provide. Again it boils down to a few things.

• Are you asking the people you meet if they want to try and send a card?
• Of the people you interface with, are they in the business of providing a service to other folks like youself?
• Are you running your numbers?
• Are you following up?

If you answered NO to any of these, then you need to get cracking. That's right, there are tons of people you interface with every day that could probably use this service. Not only could they use this service for their business, but they could use it on a personal level as well. Keep in mind that everyone is a potential card sender, so why not give it a try and see what others think about it. If they don't like it, then maybe they can direct you to someone that might like it.
