You'll Never Believe Whom I Met

There have been times in my life where I have been totally shocked and amazed at the people I come in contact with in my daily life. The other night, I attended a networking function, and met a person who's talents are near and dear to my heart. A Personal Chef! That's right, a real live Chef that comes into your house and cooks a weeks worth of meals for you. How awesome would that be?

I don't want to give you the impression that I'm turning this site into a recipe sharing application, but it dawned on me that even people in completely different walks of life can help each other. I remembered a little piece of wisdom my father once gave to me, and that is

"some of your best business will come from the people you least expect"
Now I'm not going to sit here and tell you Chef Michelle signed up for SOC that night, but I will tell you that at least she knows I'm available if I can ever help her.

The lesson that was reinforced was to never turn your back on someone or try to guess whether or not they will be interested in you. Remember, your not selling a product really, your selling yourself and the ability to help someone else out. At no time should we ever get caught up in only selling cards. If we were just selling cards, how boring would this whole thing be? We are really hear to change a life and make someone feel good, getting paid for that is the benefit you get for making someone else's day.

The next time you go to talk to someone, remember to listen first and try to understand where you might be able to help. You won't be able to help everyone, and some people just aren't in a position to take your help at the moment. That's ok, because remember, everyones situation changes at some point, you just never know when that point is.

If you would like to visit Chef Michelle, please do so by going to her site.
