Word of Mouth Sells

Posted: March 27, 2009 by: Jason

While attending a networking event, I came across a young lady with all the desire, ambition and intelligence that one might need to be successful in today's market. In addition to that she has a very cool website that has an almost unlimited potential. The name of her website as you might have guessed is: wordofmouthsells.com. When looking at the site I had an idea of the kinds of markets that really aren't being tapped yet by SOC.

So I've dedicated this post to just a few examples of how word of mouth really does sell.

Think about the last person that you signed up to be a card sender. When you signed them up, how happy were they to start sending cards to their family, friends, or business contacts. I'd put money on the fact that they were excited and it probably generated a lot of great ideas in their head, and maybe they even shared them with you. The point here is that you should be telling everyone about your service, and not only that, but you should make sure that the people you sign up tell everyone as well.

One thing that I do with each and every person I sign up, is that I make sure I leave a little bug in their ear that reminds them that they can make money sending cards. Not only can they make money, but they can also send their own cards cheaper. At the very least they always ask for more information, and nearly all them give it a really hard thought. Most of them will call me back, but one thing is for sure, they always get added to my email list.

The next post will be about the importance of list building, but for now I want you to concentrate on using your mouth to help you business. We are in a rather unique situation that allows us to speak with someone and then immediately follow up with a greeting card to remind them of your conversation.
